Buzz Media Company...Your story. Your Day. Your Moment in Motion

I first had the opportunity to meet Mike Cyr, the man behind Buzz Media Company, a couple of months ago and was just blown away by his work. He truly has mastered the art of capturing your day on film and has such an incredible talent of combining film and music to tell the story of your day, and he is one of the nicest guys you will meet. After a decade of working in Manhattan in the music/film/video business for SONY, Miramax and others, he returned to Mystic to build a company he could believe in. Buzz Media Company was formed in 2003 but was years in the making.

The philosophy is simple: do creative work, collaborate with talented people and live and work in a beautiful community near family and the ocean. Most importantly- we feel fortunate that our work is about shining a light on some of the most meaningful moments in peoples lives. -Mike Cyr

On Sunday Buzz Media Company will present a workshop that discusses “Tapping into the rhythm: music and moving images. Each wedding has its own rhythm. Finding music to compliment the film is one of the most creatively rewarding parts of putting "it all together."

It is going to be such an incredible day filled with rockstar vendors! We are so excited to bring all of these amazingly talented people in one room for this event!

With just a couple days away from the big event we are so excited to introduce you to a couple of amazingly talented ladies. Erica Coppell & Tiffany Fosnight of Adeline and Grace Photography and Maggie Conley and Maria Scaglione of Maggie Conley Photography. These ladies are truly incredible in capturing your day from behind the lens and have mastered the art of photography.

On Sunday they will be presenting a workshop together that will discuss the topic: "Presentation/Designing your Heirlooms." The design and art of making images is very creative however the more collaborative part is in the final stages, which is a great inspiration topic. Adeline and Grace and Maggie Conley are very similar in their offerings as photographers and yet distinctly different in their aesthetic sensibilities. This makes a great collaborative presentation! We are thrilled to have them collaborating with us on this event

When we say I do... The Copps

A young bride and groom (Patty and Web) 1952
Patty and Web Now

Patty and her husband Web Copp are one of the most amazing couples I have had the chance to get to know. Patty has been a Justice of the Peace for over three decades and together with her husband they officiate wedding ceremonies together. Truly a unique and extremely special experience for a couple to stand before them as they say their vows. The Copps have been happily married for over 50 years, with four children, and eleven grandchildren, they are a true symbol of love, commitment and family.

In addition to marrying brides and grooms, Patty is the author of an incredible book, What we do when we say I do. The Book reflects the humor, poignancy, frustrations and joy that are a part of planning and officiating, surrounding the most important decision people ever make. It also carries an inspirational message that can be helpful to those about to get married, those already married, and all of the extended family who play a far more important part than they imagine.

We are so excited to have them be a part of our event on May 3rd where they will talk about selecting a Justice of the Peace and the art of ceremony writing. A workshop you won't want to miss!

A schedule of all workshops will be posted this week.

Vendor Spotlight... Twobirds Bridesmaid

Today the spotlight shines on a truly incredible lady and her company twobirds bridesmaid. Lucinda and I first met Ariane Goldman, the designer of this incredible collection of dresses, last year at the NY wedding magazine show in NYC. We were blown away by her energy, creativity and passion and immediately fell in love with twobirds bridesmaid. One dress that bridesmaids can easily wrap in over ten unique ways flattering all body types!

With a background in business and eight years with American Express in marketing and and sponsorship Ariane left the corporate world to pursue a dream. Frustrated with spending way too much on bridesmaid dresses she never wore again, she set out to find a solution to the widespread debacle: how to enable your closest girlfriends to look and feel beautiful at your wedding while maintaining consistency and elegance for the pictures that will last forever.

In early 2007, Ariane was married in Jamaica and her bridesmaids wore the multifunctional dresses. Guests were enamored and her bridesmaids loved the dresses so much! She knew she had found a solution to the ever challenging problem, and watched her dress line boom across the country, with appearances on Good Morning America, The Today Show, and Martha Stewart. And last month she expanded with the opening of a store in Sydney, Australia.

We are so super excited to have this lady as a part of our event on May 3rd, she is not only an absolute doll, but someone that I truly admire. I know you will just fall in love with her collection of dresses, they are absolutely gorgeous!

Vendor Spotlight... Jennie Fresa Beauty Library

Today we are shining the spotlight on Jennie Fresa Beauty Library. Jennie’s career in the beauty business began 10 years ago in retail before branching out to private clients. It was in New York City that she gained valuable experiences working with industry leader, Trish McEvoy. As a Trainer for Trish, Jennie traveled throughout New York City and internationally. She had the opportunity to work with top professionals and meet a diverse clientele. During this time, her fondest experience came from working one on one with brides. These intimate relationships developed into a passion for Bridal Makeup, which she carries forward today.

We are so excited to have Jennie as a collaborating vendor on our upcoming event. She is not only the sweetest, most genuine person you will ever meet but she is incredibly talented! The other night when we were out at an event I couldn't stop picking her brain about beauty secrets, my makeup regiment and how I could acheive a glowing complexion like hers. I couldn't get enough! On May 3rd you will have the chance to talk to Jennie and ask her all of your beauty questions as well, and sit in on an intimate workshop to learn about the process.

During her workshop, Jennie will discuss the sense of touch--the application process of makeup for your wedding day. {I.e. giving skin a flawless finish, longevity of makeup, the art of crafting a look that is custom, and the overall positive feeling one has when they are perfectly enhanced}.

Jennie just opened the most adorable studio in Madison, Connecticut and will travel upon request.

Guest Speaker Spotlight... Abby Larson of Style Me Pretty

Abby Larson and her absolutely gorgeous blog Style Me Pretty is a name and site we have all quickly grown to know. She has led the way in the blogging world in this industry since its inception and continues to inspire us on a daily basis. She admittedly will tell you she has the best job in the world. "I spend my days scouring the Internet for beautiful things, walking the streets of Boston waiting to be inspired, roaming the aisles of my favorite little bookshop…all day, dreaming about weddings. On any given Tuesday, you might find me on my sofa, hovering over my laptop creating inspiration boards and color palettes, constantly getting sidetracked by all of the beautiful sites I’ve found along the way." Which is something we could all say of the endless hours we can spend looking through the pages on Style Me Pretty.

Abby launched Style Me Pretty as a way to stay connected to the industry and to continue to challenge herself creatively. "As a blogger, I am forever in search of inspiration…whether it’s my grandfather’s sketches or my niece’s paintings, the perfect pair of ballet flats or a blush colored peony. There are no boundaries for inspiration. I write about all things beautiful. All things wedding. Everyday, I post my favorite finds, my latest loves…And in the midst of all the beautiful pictures and the beautiful weddings, my only hope is that I will inspire you in some small way, to translate that perfect picture in your head into a day that will make you smile for years to come." This is the creative process that Abby will share with us and take us through on May 3rd at our event at Saltwater Farm.

Aside from the inspiration boards, featured color stories, details and real weddings Abby has really done an incredible job of building her Little Black Book of the best vendors in each state. Michelle her right hand lady in the office and sweetest woman I have met in a long time, personally interviews and screens each invited vendor, of which they only select three in each category to be represented. There are many talented vendors that aren't listed in the book but the careful attention to detail and the personalized selection and extensive research that they do before you are invited to participate is truly amazing. Making the Little Black Book the most incredible resource for brides across the country. Lucinda and I are beyond thrilled and honored to have been invited to join the LBB, as have many of the participating vendors in our event.

We are so excited to be collaborating with Abby on this event which promises to be a day you definitely wont want to miss!
